ARE YOU READY FOR A CHRISTMAS TREE??????

So last year my 15 year old son was a tad grumpy when it came time to decorate for Christmas.
This really upset me since I love everything about Christmas especially the decorating!
So I said to him "I bet if this was a football themed tree you would be all about the decorating!" He replied" Yes I would!" So I beat him at his own game! HA! HA! Light bulb moment was happening!

Our tree this year is all bout the football right down to the topper!!!!! How clever am I???? (Ok so Mary gave me the cone suggestion and I went with the rest!)

One for Mom!!!!!

I made a few of the ornaments and have a few more that I have decoupaged but are not ready for hanging. I underestimated the dry time! I will show those later!!

I am all about the free stuff! So I did some playing!

I am going to clean the mess that is my craft room tonight(I have to the cable guy is coming to install my new modem and right now you can barely see the computer table. YIKES!) so I will get in there and actually get to stamp! I need to get my Christmas cards done! I have not even started UGH! But i have the long weekend coming so hopefully after I brave the stores on Black Friday and come out alive HEHEHE, I will stamp and post something!

I got to finally do a sketch challenge over at splitcoast. The Kids are back in school(Doing a big happy dance here!!) You can find that challenge here.

I also finally was able to make my card for Sherry Cheever's Twisted Humor challenge found here.
Oh what fun I had doing this one!! A little racy but funny! Now I wish I had someone to give it to!! HMMMM. LOL The inside of the card reads "Wanna Monkey around with me??" Sentiments are both computer generated as they were thought of in my warped brain!! lol

I also used my new nestabilities for this! Oh yeah loving theses babies!

Altered Picture frames

My Children think I am brilliant! My daycare children that is. The 14 year old still thinks I am strange but hey he is fourteen after all.
Anyway I had the kids alter picture frames. They loved it. Stickers bling paper and markers and they were off! Kept them busy for a little over an hour! Whoohoo!So here they are-----

Summer is almost gone here! Eight(8) little days until the kiddies go back to school! But who's counting? *-7-6-5-...... LOL I love them but they get in the way of stamping time! LOL Seriously, I will miss them. Also a few of the day care kids will be leaving me as they have reached middle school age now and think they have outgrown me! Sniff Sniff!

I have had these Justrite Monogram sets for months and have finally had time to play with them!
I love love love them!!
I made this set for my MIL as a thank you for driving my son to events this summer.
I am going to add a few more cards to this. I was just so excited that I actually was able to play and have time to blog too!!

WOW I can't believe it has been a month since I have posted! Bad blogger! LOL
We have been having some vicious thunderstorms the last few days! It has been wild!
Well last night it literally hit my house and a tree in my yard!! Blew the tree all over the yard. Thanks God no one was hurt and the damage was only to the tree outside.
The house did not sustain any damage but sadly my stove in the kitchen was zapped. Oh Darn it all I won't be able to cook!! LOL
Waiting for the insurance adjuster to come and then I can get everything fixed!!
I really hope there are not any windy storms until that tree gets removed.

several large chunks blew off the tree. The power of nature is just amazing!!
Maybe I can get some stamping in this Holiday weekend!

I am tryingt o get the word out! I am participating in the American Cancer society's Relay for Life
this June! This is a cause that is very close to my heart! I am a cancer survivor for over 20 years now! My particular bout may not have been as life threatening as some but it was 2 years of operations and it was on my face!! Every time I look in the mirror(Still to this day) I am reminded.
Because of the scars that glare at me. Fortunately I had a wonderful plastic surgeon to put me back together. The scars on my face have faded but I can still see it as clear as the first day I saw it.
BUT I AM ALIVE and kicking. Now I would like to try and kick cancers A$$ if I can!
Each and every one of us unfortunately has a family member/friend who suffers from this scourge too.

Double pocket Bag!!!

This is the coolest bag I have seen in a while and this was so super easy!!! I will say that to you but for those that I give this to I am going to re-enact the Rice Krispie sq. commercial! LOL Because it looks labor intensive but is so far from it!! Ya know throw a little glue on my shirt(washable of course! LOL) Pull some of my hair out from the clip or ponytail! haha. I know it would work! LOL

I can definitely see myself making these all the time! You can find a tutorial on SCS here. Love it!

This is a shot of the inside
One side can hold a small card! and the other pocket can hold a gift certificate or a tea bag, package of cocoa etc.
The possibilities are endless! I am so excited.

A challenge with my new set!

I love this new set by SU For father! It has such cute images and it is so masculine. I struggle making guy cards because I always want to add more and guys do not want the bling and the ribbon and such! So making it simple and masculine is rather hard for me!
Todays challenge on SCS was to make a card using embossing with watercoloring. I love this technique and it worked wonderfully with my new set.
I embossed in fine detail black and then used my aqua painters and ink pads to color. tore some paper and did a bit of piercing on the inner layer edge. Simple was killing me! lol
I think it came out terrific, even if I do say so myself! And I do!

Another challenge at SCS!! The limited supply challenge.

Here are the Rules--------
This week, you're limit is on tools. Not only are the tools limited, but you can only use one type of punch.... CIRCLES!

YIPPEE! I got to play with my new nestabilities again! I am sure lots of you are going to tire of hearing me say that. BUT I love these diecuts! I will definitely be future purchases to my budget!

I also was able to use my favorite stamp set SU's very own Blossoms Abound.
Card measures 5 1/4 X 5 1/4. I rarely make square cards but I thought it fit my circles the best.
Plus I have a ton of sq envies and I running low on the regular ones LOL.

Splitcoast Color Challenge 164

Yeah!!! Yippee!! I am so happy that I finally got to participate in another SCS color challenge and play with my new nestabilities. (love love love these little buggers). I had some trial and error with the nestabilities but now that I have the cuttlebug sandwich recipe for them I am good to go!

The challenge was to use together these three colors --- Black, Pomegranate and Soft Sky.
I wasn't thrilled at all. But now that I am done I am liking it more and more.
So here is the finished product. Be kind it has been awhile!

Stampsets SU noteworthy, misc flower set

CASED Carousel Purse

I fell in love with this project the minuteI saw it on Jan Tink's Blog
I told my friend and stampin Up demonstrator, Mary about it and last night we made it at club!
I may just be able to get on the good list with my Mom for awhile after I present this to her on Mother's day! LOL

This next photo is of the inside. There are two pockets where the carousel notes fit and then other areas to either journal or adhere additional pictures!
I just love, love love love how this came out!

I definitely need more of this designer paper, Afternoon Tea, from Stampin Up too!
Off to play with my nestabilities now. I have had them for almost 2 weeks now and have not had a chance to play yet!

This is so totally not stamping related BUT I am super excited!
This is my very first car Purchase made all by myself without the help of a Father or Husband! I even negotiated the deal on my own!! I guess I have finally become independent! Yippee for me!
There are so many buttons to play with I am like a kid in a candy store!!!!!

Close to my Heart!

Finally I was able to post something! Love my new camera!
I go this set awhile ago from Close to my heart! "Make it Count" is a wonderful set! I can see myself using it quite a lot.
The lighting isn't quite right here but I am still playing!

The card base is River Rock and with a layer of black and the ribbon is Always Artichoke!! Matches perfectly. I used distress ink to sponge the edges of the word piece and the clock hands.

Off to enjoy this beautiful weather! It is supposed to get up to 70 degrees today!

Sorry for not posting but I am having camera issues still and now the scanner died. I am not very technologically savvy either. It may take me forever to learn a new piece. As soon as my taxes come in I am buying myself a great camera! That no one else can use!

I am actually having another dilemna also. Between buying single punches o just giving in and purchasing hte nestability sets.
Pros
Nestabilities save storage space, and you get more sizes.
Cons
Nestability sets are more expensive
I dont know I need to comare them some more I think.

The first did not start out being a sympathy card but leaned towards the somber shade and the sentiment fit the space. LOL

Color Challenge!

Hello all
Another Tuesday morning color challenge at SCS ! And boy what a challenge this one was!
The colors that were chosen sent met to thinking for a while! Orchid Opulence Certainly Celery and Pumpkin Pie. I would never in a millions years put these three colors together. At least not voluntarily. LOL

So when the challenge get tough the tough reach for Stampin Up's Heartfelt Thanks stamp set!
It is my Superhero set. It has the ability to make any color combo or layout come out looking good.

I stamped the middle image first then stamped off to create the lighter shaded flowers on the sides.
I used a button on the corner and folded back the edge. Super simple! Super easy!

What I used.
Stampin up Papers - Orchid opulence, certainly celery, and pumpkin pie and the matching inks.
Button and the Hearfelt stamp set.

This card was made using a new technique, Ink spray and smash that I found on the Splitcoast challenge forum. Markies Mom on SCS. uses it all the time and her stuff is AMAZING. Check her out. You will not be sorry!
A tutorial can be found on her blog here. I was really going for a different look but when I tried to speed up the dry time the strange squiggles appeared so I had to go with a water scene!
I have been playing on SCS in the challenges forum but have neglected to post them here. What a dope!! I was just notified that my Close to my Heart order is in!! Yippee! I can't wait to play with my new stuff! I ordered some great papers and a a time stamp for a an album I have in mind!

I made this card for the SC Limited supply challenge on SCS Friday. You had to make a card inspired by the two teams colors or a hunky player or football related in someway while limiting your layers tools and embellishments.

Of Course I chose my teams colors of Red Navy and White!
Here is the card, I tried my first kickstand style card! I love this! The inside says "Patriots Style"
Happy Birthday. My Dad will love this card! SHHH don't tell him. LOL

Card #1 was for SCS Wednesday sketch challenge! It has the cutest heart stamp on the BG but it is hard to see in the photo
Card #2 was also made for SCS weekly sketch challenge. It used SU Best Border stamp which has not seen ink in years! I don't know why because I love the image!
Card #3 was made for the SC ways to use it challenge. You had to incorporate the use of staple in the design. I tried to come up with a new method for using them but alas the babies woke too early so I had to stick with a tried and true measure of attaching the ribbon with the staples.
This is also the same set used in the card above, just cut with the punches.

Ok SO I get to play on SCS Color challenge and what color combo is it? YO YO YELLOWand grays! At first I thought UGH! and remembered this cute little duck stamp that had yet to be inked.
I also did not have any gray papers so I had to go with black and used only the going gray ink in this challenge!

I cannot believe that my camera just started working again on it's own. I thought for sure that it had been damaged beyond repair after its little swim. I have had it sitting on the computer table since it happened. I tried it out today an BINGO! it is working!

Hot diggity Dog! I just saved myself several hundred dollars. Now I can spend my money on more stamping supplies! YIPPEE!! And people tell me I should throw things away HA to that.( I am now doing a very bad imitation of an end zone dance. ) LOL

Anyway here is a quick card I made with my new Rubbernecker Stamps The inside says "When you wish upon a star makes no difference who you are" (Do you find yourself singing this sentiment? Or is it just me????) I was just playing with different coloring techniques and remembered I needed a baby congrats card. I will upload the others later, once the images make it onto cards.

My Word!!

I have been reading on many blogs the concept of choosing a word to define the year ahead. This sounded like a wonderful idea to try. But I can't seem to find the right word. I have been thinking and thinking trying to come up with something that can possibly define my little ol self and my life.

I was having a real tough time until I was having tea with my friend Doren this morning. A word that kept surfacing in our conversation was PROGRESSION. Here is the definition according to Webster's New Dictionary:

[Progress] ---- n. forward movement; passage from place to place; to go on to advance, continue.

This fits me to perfection. My life is a steady work in progress in regard to my personal relationships, my new healthy lifestyle and career. I think this word fits my resolutions to a "T".
I may even add another word to it mid year,, (Don't want to rush this progression at all ) LOL
I have patience sure I do Wink! Wink!!

The word that I may add is
FULFILLMENT - - - v. to fulfill; to carry out; to satisfy to complete. (according to Webster's New Dictionary)

I am so impatient!! LOL This life we live is an ever changing journey and progression will always be part of our lives unless we decide to stagnate become a hermit and never change a bit.

Ok enough of my philosophy 101 lol. I have been using my new bind it all machine to make some cool stuff and I promise to share it with you once I figure out my stupid camera and get it to upload the photos on it.

2007 was a trying year. It had many ups and downs for me.SO I am hoping that 2008 will prove to be better for me and my family

I was not going to do this but then I thought maybe if I put my resolutions into writing I may actually keep some of them. So here they are.

1. Get Healthy. ( I really mean thinner BUT that really means a whole lifestyle change SO If I live healthier the weight loss will come naturally)

2. Plan better for my financial future.

3. Take more time for me.

4. Get organized!! Now this might just be the toughest one of all!

Those are it. Easy peasy right? Wrong. Not for ME! But This year I am determined to keep at least one LOL

I am so excited! I just love this new image from Rubbernecker stamps
I hand wrote the sentiment in.This is the first of the three new sets that i purchased for myself! You see I was a very good girl this year!! LOL Anyway this is the card that I made and I actually combined it with a challenge from SCS . I have a hard time with this challenge because I always want to add something more! But I am pretty happy with the results of this card. Right down to the leash.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday!! My family came over and it was wonderful!
Today we all go to my parents for Christmas number 2 as my brother and his family came in late late late last evening!!

I got many gift certificates to spend at my favorite craft places. YIPPEE!!

So today I will spend part of the day shopping online and save the travel for later. I will be back with projects in a few days!!

Holiday Turkey story!!

I don't have any stamp projects to show you. BUT I do have a funny holiday cooking story! Of course it was a snafu that happened to me. I should be embarrassed to tell people but being me I am not. LOL

A few years ago I was preparing the turkey for the oven and I thought the neck and that little bag of parts was still frozen inside the bird. So I worked for hours trying to get it out!! Using my fingernails to scrape the ice from the inside of the cavity. It took forever and I had to chase the thing across the kitchen floor as it fell out from knees where I was holding it wrapped in a towel to get some sort of leverage on it to pull the frozen neck out. I was not about to leave the neck and the little baggie of parts inside again!!)I made that mistake one year! I have to point out that this was happening at midnight Christmas Eve. I cook mine on low heat over night.

Well finally I did get the neck out. It was not easy either. I then stuffed the bird and put it in the oven and layered the top with bacon .(Dad came over to play Santa and leave the presents and I told him about this very long neck I had removed and how hard it was since it was still frozen in the bird.) He commiserated with me and said that happens sometime.

Well Christmas day my Dad was going to carve the bird for dinner. It was browned perfectly too I may add. He called me over and showed me the neck he took out of one end. He was laughing really hard now .As he scooped the stuffing the bird deflated in front of our eyes!! Flat as a brown pancake on the platter. Strangest thing I ever saw!! LOL Dad almost hurt himself he was laughing so hard!
Apparently I worked so diligently to de-spine the bird!! Yep I took the spine
right outta that sucker!!
Really this could only happen to the girl who burned Jello!!

This is a family story that I will never hear the end of.

My family never views turkey dinners quite the same anymore,,,, maybe next year we will have prime rib. Imagine what I could do to that!!!! LOL

Anyone else care to share their worst holiday cooking snafu???? It can't be worse than mine!! LOL

Ok So I thought I was done

Ok SO I thought I was done and then I thought of some more cards!!

I needed to make some gift card holders for my day care children! We made a similar card at club last night. However, I was a dope and forgot to take a picture of that one before I sealed the envies.

I changed up the scalloped punch, club used a circle and the stamps are also different. On a few I experimented and added some red swirls to the front. BUT again I forgot to take pictures of those! AARRGGG! It really irritates me when I do stupid things! Inside is the actual gift card holder. Red piece of card stock folded into a pouch and adhered to the inside. Very simple.

I also made this Origami Christmas tree card! OH what a blast this was and soooo super easy! They look really tricky when actually they went together quite quickly. Reminds me of the old Rice Krispie commercial where the mom is reading a book in the kitchen while her family thinks she is slaving to make the Rice Krispie squares!!

I have some gorgeous Christmas paper that I have been hoarding that would work great for this! Hmmm maybe I will make a few and get a head for next year! What I used: All products are Stampin Up
Papers Chocolate chip, Always Artichoke. and Kraft. Ink Always Artichoke and the Christmas designer paper. Stamps - Weathered BG.

Now I am finished! Wink!! Wink!! Anything else is a head start on next year!! LOL

I have shopped, bought, wrapped and now am waiting for the big day! I have crafted and wrapped! I think I am done! (Well at least until I think of something else)
I have cleaning and baking to do but then again don't I always?
Here is the last of the Christmas cards that I am sending this year! It was actually a challenge on SCS using limited supplies. This one was to use a white based card. I chose ribbon as my only embellishment to keep the crisp clean feel! I love the cuttlebugged area on card! So easy yet it adds a lot! I love love love this ribbon and my bow was not too shabby either!! LOL. Sponged and stamped the center image in SU real red.
Ok off to get Millie from the groomers!

Winter Storm!!

Well we had some snow the last few days!! About 15 inches according my measuring.
Here is what it looks like in my yard! It sure is pretty but I hate to shovel!!
This is shot out on the back deck!!

And it is still snowing!!

I have been crafting all morning BUT now the Patriots are on. I will try to post my creations later tonight or tomorrow!! I need to go watch them bury the Jets!!

I hope if you are snowed in as I am you are snug and warm!!

I think I need to clear the table before it gets too overloaded!!

Poor Millie(the 200lb mastiff) had a terrible time getting off the deck,, she couldn't see the stairs before I shoveled. It freaked her out!

I participated in a challenge on splitcoast today while I had a quiet house!!
It featured Stamper Lilluvstampin her gallery is here
Take a few and check it out. She is incredibly talented.

I had to add a bit of my own twisted sense of humor to the card. The basic layout with a few changes is her design. I also switched up the color scheme. Different brads and added a bit of ribbon! You just gotta have ribbon!

I plan on giving Jacob his movie gift certificates in this card. So SHHHHHH don't tell him.
He will definitely appreciate the twisted humor of this card!
The sentiment is hand written and says "Merry Christmas poo you!"
I just crack myself up sometimes.

I Know I have already posted a shot of my Tree BUT this one has my babies in front if it!

I was able to take this shot since Jacob was on the happy swing instead of the grumpy swing today!(or should I say moment instead of referencing the day) The joy of the teenage years! Millie will do just about anything that involves snuggles from "her boy"!!

I really need to go finish my cards so I can get them in the mail before Christmas!! LOL I will post the last of my Christmas cards once I have finished them!!

I just got a very twisted idea involving a tree stamp and the Way to go set from Gina K. Be back to post it later!!

Another Christmas Card

I have been playing with this set, I believe it is from the Rubber stamp Tapestry company??? Anyways a friend let me stamp off a few images.
I love friends who share!!!

This is what I used.

TAC sparkling paper, SU whisper white, Provo holiday stack.

SU garden green ink, Copic red marker.(I think I need some of these now!!), misc. ribbon.

For anyone who is crunching only 19 days until Christmas!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! The holidays were so much easier as a child! But then again I probably complained it took too long to get here then!!

Well I am off to try and finish my cards sometime before Christmas!! I am very late this year!!

Christmas Tree

It feels and smells so much like Christmas throughout my entire house! We got the tree last night(before the snow comes) We were going to wait until today to decorate BUT we couldn't. My niece Jessie and her boyfriend Korey, Jacob and I all decorated at 10pm. Although my 14 year old son was acting very Bah Humbug but he grudgingly helped. No scrooges allowed!

He used to love doing the tree but now I guess being the cave dweller that he thinks I am,,,it must be something uncool to do!! Oh well This too shall pass. I hope!

It looks so pretty with the twinkling white lights. and my angel is fiber optic. I just love Christmas trees.

Now For the rest of the house....... But I have the rest of the day for that! I am all prepared and waiting for the snow!

Color Challenge!

I was very excited I got to finally participate in a challenge at Splitcoast and actually post it.The challenge can be found here.
Todays challenge was soft colors using Basic Gray, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue. (for those who do not know these are Stampin Up color palettes.) For a little bling I added a bit of Dazzlin Diamonds to the ice cube.
I knew Petey from Inky Antics would be perfect for this. He is such a cute little fellow.
I still can't decide whether he is holding an ornament or a huge yo-yo. I will let the individual decide that.

Cracked Up!!!

I hope everyone had a full Thanksgiving Day.(i.e. full of fun full of food, full of family). I sure did.
If I was watching calories, I would be in real trouble. My eyes would be sore that is for certain.Oh well, you only live once.

I just received my new stamp set from Gina K Designs
and I have to say I am just cracking myself up. I can think of so many wonderful sayings to go with this set. The sentiments that come with it are fabulous too but my twisted sense of humor is really having a field day here.

The first card is the more traditional fold style. Hand written sentiment "Potty On!" LOL I just crack myself up.The second card is a tent topper style that still fits is a medium size envie. Computer generated sentiment "Down with the crappy in with the Happy" LOL That sentiment was too long to hand write.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and eats too much and enjoys their family and friends.
I plan on it! Also I will be thinking of all the wonderful things that I am thankful for.
number one is love and support of my family and friends. Because fo that, I know that anything that comes my way will be the end results will be oK!
I may also try and brave the "Black Friday" crowds! Nothing better than smiling widely at the crabby people in line. It is amazing that they even attempt it when it is no secret that the lines will be long!! LOL Oh well maybe I might even sing a few bars of my favorite song while I am waiting in line surrounded by Bah Humbugs LOL
Hopefully I get some project time in this long weekend!!

Christmas Cards!

Well I decided it was about time to start my cards for the season! I don't know where this design came from,, I thought I was being original and guess what?? I was wrong!! Yep mark your calendars it does happen once in a while. I would like to give credit but I am not sure whose design this really is. I think I first spotted it on Sherry Cheevers Blog I read hers everyday not only is she creative but soo funny. Take a look.

What I used:

Stamp set SU Hostess set so I old I can't remember the name.
Cuddle Bug, Gold embossing powder, White Signo pen, red ribbon Stampin Markers

Very quick and easy card. I think I will make a few more to have on hand.

Candles!!

OMG! This weekend was the best! I finally got to sit and play and craft and it was wonderful! YIPPEE!
Here is one of my projects. I always wanted to try one but thought it was more difficult that it really is.
I was a bit intimidated by it.
So I thought I would give you a short how to.
It is so easy and so much fun!

How to stamp on candles

Using the Stampin Up Holy Triptych set, I stamped on white tissue paper using black staz on ink and then very "carefully" colored with shimmer chalks and a very dry aqua painter. Too much water and the paper is gone!! Let dry before attempting to move the image!! Cut the tissue paper as close to the image as possible and lay on your candle. Next wrap very tightly with wax paper and heat with your heat tool. Once the wax paper appears shiny and wet you can gently peel it away from the candle. Be sure not to use the heat tool too close or it will discolor the candle. Trust me on this one! I have one image on each side and plan to do other candles with the rest of the set! I am also thinking of adding a coordinating ribbon. We'll see.

I saw this flower on Debby Winters blog Through my Stamp room Window
and just had to try it! I followed the tutorial link on Spit coast.
I decided to try it out on a square card which measures 5 1/2" X 5 1/2".

I will definitely use this flower technique again and again!!

After 7 years of sweating and practicing, and trophy size bruises and winning and losing and no lazy days in August, Pop Warner football is finally over for my son. It is very sad! He is growing up! Mixed emotions here over this.
Jacob's team may not have always come out on top on the scoreboard BUT his coach certainly did. What an awesome "Gentleman!" Unlike other coaches I have seen who demand respect but seldom give it, Coach Smith gave respect from the onset and mentored the team with dignity, respect and gave each team member something to feel good about themselves! Win or lose! He exemplified what youth coaching should be! Jacob learned a lot from this man!
So I made this card and wrote a little note of thanks for 7 great years!!

The window is very dark in this picture, It looks much better in person!
I used SU stamp set touchdown and added the team initials.
actetate,foam tape, micro beads and a textured card from ????. I think it came out ok. I was trying not to pretty it up too much!

Oh Fiddlesticks!!!

I finally get a camera so I am excited and I will be able to post my stuff again and what happens---- Well I am out of adhesive so I can't make nothing!!! No tape No glue no corner pieces nothing! (Here is where I am whining and stomping my feet, having a great little hissyfit!!) :(

So once the little darlings have all gone home I will go to the store and get some more adhesive. then I can make something positively spectacular and post!! LOL

I made this card for a friend who recently lost her son unexpectedly! I can't think of a worse thing to have to go through.
The colors are unusual for a sympathy card but they are her favorite.

Punched Pumpkins!!!!

This was a great card idea from my friend Mary. We made these at club the other night. No stamping just punches and a spritzer and a Crop- O- Dile. Cool idea using the Crop-O-Dile to emboss small dots on the card Just a word of advice do not squeeze too tightly or you will punch through the cad stock! And more importantly hold away from your body while squeezing. Yep that does smart a bit! Enough said on that.
Not sure how well it shows in my scan though. Can't wait to get my camera back from being repaired!!

HELP I HAVE STARTED SHOPPING AND I CAN'T STOP!!

I have not posted in a while since I really have not stamped lately. I am shopping for new inventory instead(I say inventory trying to make it sound more necessary than I am just feeding my habit.) Cripes!! I sound like a person with a serious addiction problem. LOL
I have just purchased these really fun stamps from Inky Antics
I ordered some of the new stamps from the Ronnie Walters collection and some of the new images from the fall/winter supplement. All three designers Janie, Tammy and Ronnie outdid themselves with these new designs. The totally Rock!
Then while the credit card was still smoking, I clicked over to Eclecticpaperie
and discovered, to my great joy, there are several new Cuttlebug embossing folders and this great product called Glimmer mist. Well I had to have that too. My Christmas cards are going to sparkle and glimmer and ooohh I can't wait to play!!
Sometimes I think this is when I need to still be married, I need someone to reel me back in BUT then again, this is more fun and I don't have to justify my purchases to anyone else.
YIPPEEE! I will be posting soon all the new projects that I make with my new stuff!!!!

Fall is coming !! Definite nip in the air this morning. My Thermometer read 47 at 530 this morning. Chilly chilly!

I finally reinstalled my scanner so I can start uploading some of the projects I have been making.

This set of cards I made using The tutorial on Cornish Heritage Farms Forum sectio n.
The technique is called Shimmery Window technique by Keri Serika.
I used SU Woodland Cottage set instead of a Thomas Kinkade set though.
It is awesome. Such a different look and so super easy once you now how to do it.
Check it out!!! I will try this again on my Kinkade stamp another time.
My favorite version of these is the brown toned card! It just seems to work better. The blue was a bit over the top color wise for me.
Off to get the little ones occupied.

Summer living Football and New Rubbah!! Could it get any Better??

Wow! It has been awhile and I didn't even realize it!
Pop warner has started again and it has been a busy time. I just love football!! Patriots are just warming up!!! I feel another ring coming!!

My son is so cute this year, He is at the crossroad between boy/man. thirteen going on fourteen. Yikes I am old!!He has just informed me that he needs to lift weights! His wrists are too skinny! Imagine that? ( And here I am wishing I had the worry that any part of my fluffy self was too skinny!!) He needs to lift to bulk up a bit!! Oh Boy!! I wish he would stay little yet at the same time I'm curious as to what he will grow to become. Skinny wrists and all!! That still just cracks me up!!

I have not had much free time to play at all. But I have been stalking all the sites looking at new products out! The Stampin up catalog has some great items, The Angel company has some terrific items but the winner is Inky antics. They have a new stamp designer Ronnie Walter who is fabulous!! I am so loving her stuff! Check her out on the Inky Antics new supplement on their website.

Ok This is not the best picture But the excitement from finally getting two images worth making cards out of could not be contained! Thomas Kinkade is an amazing artist I can only hope that these cards somehow do him justice. I will post better shots in the very near future.

Card Recipe
Thomas Kinkade Forest chapel Vignette stamp for both cards, Stampin up paper Orchid Opulance, Pale Plum, Orchid Opulance Ink to stamp The Angel company BG and Stampin Up Organdy Ribbon. I used Aqua painters and the crayons to color. Used the Aqua Painters very dry and heavy on the color. I also outlined the edges of the stamped image with the Orchid Opulance marker. For the second card Stampin up paper Mellow Moss and Barely Banana, Cuttlebug to emboss the BG and Stampin Up Gingham ribbon. I used the Aqua painters (very wet this time) and light on the crayon. I smooshed the edges of the stamped piece with Mellow Moss ink to soften the edges.

So I have been without a phone or *gasp* internet for several days now! Boy did that stink!! However did we live without a computer and internet???? BUT It gave me the incentive to play in my craft room more! Since I still do not have my camera so I am improvising with the cell phone I was just so excited to share. I made this tin as an example for the project I am going to do in daycare. I have several 9 to 10 y/o girls that will love this!! This one has sunflowers,,, I wonder who would like that? What do you think Trina?????

Does anyone remember Fred Sanford?

Sometimes life is just odd or maybe it is just me!
For years I have struggled with the reality that is my body and the number which pops up on the dreaded scale. I tried a new diet tip the other day which I DO NOT recommend to anyone! I steeped two different tea bags together which I heard would help as a diuretic. Oolong and Green tea and proceeded over the course of a few hours drink several cups of this. Well it worked,, to a point. I was peeing all right but I also gave myself a stimulant overdose, thought I was having "The big one!". I don't ever even use caffeine so my system just went haywire! Numb hands and arms, sweating, nausea, the works! Six hours in the ER and I was sent home to let it run its course from my system.
I always assumed that if a situation arose that appeared life threatening I would have one of those cathartic spiritual movies of my life flash before my eyes. BUT true to my deranged and quirky nature do I see that? NOPE!! All I see is Fred Sanford grabbing his chest yelling to Elizabeth that this is it and he is on his way! I did however think, I hope they have crafts up there! LOL It really was not comical at the time and fortunately it was not "the big one!" But now I can joke about it. I told my 13 yo and his response was along the line of Mom you never do anything normally anyway. He was very sweet though. He wanted to sleep with me that night to watch me. Just in case! So we climb into bed. I shut my eyes and felt his watchful little eyes boring holes into me! It took me several minutes to reassure him that I would be ok if he slept! He was not however, the least bit worried ask him he will tell you!! It is a great feeling to be genuinely cared about like that!

I have been crafting but since my camera is still not repaired I can't show you. Maybe I can talk my dad into loaning me one of his. HMM I think I may go work on that now!

Well I have been playing with this site for 2 days now and I think I have gotten the hang of things!! But you never know with me!~ I also am super excited I received my first Thomas Kinkade stamp from <Cornish Heritage Farms >
I love it! I bought the forest chapel Vignette. I have stamped it in monotones and have tried my hand at coloring it! The coloring is aggravating me! I can't seem to get the look I want. Thomas Kinkade I am not!! LOL The SU water color pencils just turned into a muddy mess, the SU crayons worked better, but so far my favorite method seems to be the chalks! As soon as I get an image I am happy with I will upload it.

OOHH I wanted to say this is my first experience ordering from Cornish HeritageFarms and I am very impressed. My order was here in a flash!! (Even with the release the Thomas Kinkade stamps.) I indefinitely will order from them more in the future!!

OK Off to earn my cash to support my stamping habit! Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Housework Stinks!

I made this card a while ago for a challenge on Inky Antics She is a fantastic stamp! Reminds me of Helen Roper from the old show Three's Company. Housework stinks is an appropriate title since I hate deplore and otherwise can't stand housework!! I would rather stamp! There are several other "ladies" that I own now and will upload soon! I used a mixture of supplies from Inky Antics, to Stampin Up and of course my favorite new item the Cuttle Bug.

Well my niece and son would be proud of me for entering the blogging world(that is if they were even remotely interested in anything that came from my typing!!
